the eye behind the lens.

Christine "Dayo" Olagun is a Manhattan-based creative visionary interested in exploring the intersections of blackness, identity, and consciousness through the visual and written word. Her interests initiative birthed out of her studies at the University of Pennsylvania, where she completed her B.A. in Health and Societies. There, she found a passion for storytelling as an on-campus journalist and writer. She also explored the history, policies, and structures that shape healthcare systems, and the inequities that exist within them. She spent some time in South Africa exploring the stories of black healthcare providers as a Fulbright Scholar. Now, her goals are to educate, enlighten, and to grow our own understanding concerning blackness, individual stories, and how this may intertwine with history, wellness, and being. She is passionate about understanding healthcare experiences by telling untold stories.  Now, as a medical student at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine she continues to explore her interdisciplinary interests in many different forms including essays, photo series and projects. She hopes to share her story and provide opportunities for others to share their own. Through explorations of history, self, imagery and storytelling she believes that we can begin to understand ourselves and each other.
